The teacher took his job very seriously and was constantly having trouble with his class. He was very stern and almost seems like he didn't like his class. In one scene, Antoine told him that his mother died and the teacher showed empathy towards him.
Antoine was shocked to see his mother kissing another man. Antoine's friend told him to use it to his advantage. Showing there were two different ways you can accept this situation, which is either being hurt or use blackmail.When Antoine's father found out about the mother cheating, he was upset, but didn't say much else about it. They didn't talk about separating or divorce.
In this scene, Antoine and his family are so happy. There was so much laughter and smiles to go around. It was so great that I thought there was a catch to this. I was waiting for something bad to happen.
